Eligibility Requirements
The CalVet Home Loan Program has recently updated its eligibility requirements so that nearly every Honorably Discharged Veteran wanting to purchase real estate in California can apply.
Your DD-214 must declare an “Honorable Discharge.” Generally, a “Medical Discharge” is acceptable if there is a service-connected disability. Also, “Under Honorable Terms” is generally acceptable
No Prior California Residency Restrictions – no matter where you entered the military in the United States, as long as you are wanting to buy a home in California, you qualify for CalVet financing
Funds are available for qualifying wartime and peacetime era Veterans as well as applicants currently serving on Active Duty
Cal Vet is Reusable – Veterans who used the CalVet Home Loan Program previously may obtain another new loan subject to current eligibility and funding requirements
